What I am seeing in AI, where agents are headed, and how one person can now run what used to take a team.
AI right now
AI changes every week. Here is what moved.
The teams that do well will have a few people who really know agents, the hardware under them and the protocols around them. Every fact below links to its source.

Agentic consulting, with a person in charge.
Agent setup
I set up AI agents for the jobs that eat your week, like drafts, follow ups, sorting and research. Each one has a clear task and asks a person before it spends, posts or decides.
Local AI hardware
Some work should never leave the building. I spec, set up and tune the machines that run private AI in your office, along with the network they sit on.
Workflow design
Before any tool, we map how the work really moves today and where it gets stuck. Then we build AI agent workflows one at a time and keep only what earns its place.
Protocols and permissions
Agents reach your files and apps through protocols like MCP. I wire those connections with tight permissions and write plain rules for what an agent may touch and who signs off.
Vendor management
AI, software, IT and phone vendors all want a line on your bill. I audit what you pay for, cut what nobody uses, and sit in on vendor calls so you never buy blind.
On site or remote
I can work at your office next to your team or with you over a call. Either way, the job ends when your people can run it without me.
About Taishi Thompson
The tools change every few years. The friction doesn't.
I have spent more than 25 years in technology, in CXO, CMO, CIO and CISO roles, across finance, healthcare, higher education, legal services and hospitality. The same problem shows up everywhere: work gets stuck between departments, and good people lose hours to workarounds.
AI is the fastest shift I have seen, and most teams are trying to keep up on their own. I do not think it replaces people. I think the people who get very good at agents, the hardware under them and the rules around them are the ones who come out ahead.
That is my work. Some call it being a forward deployed engineer. I call it showing up, learning how your work really runs, and building it with you until your team owns it. Local first where your data matters. Cloud when it is honestly the better tool.
Halflife Studios is based in Hampton, Connecticut. I work anywhere, on site or remote, and meet clients where they are.
Questions
Questions people ask first
What is agentic consulting?
Agentic consulting means setting up AI agents to do real work inside your business. A person who knows your team decides what each agent does and checks what it produces.
Does my data leave my office?
Not by default. Work runs on machines you control first, and a cloud model is used only when you approve it for a specific job.
Do you work on site?
Yes. Halflife Studios is based in Hampton, Connecticut, and I work anywhere, on site or remote, meeting clients where they are.
Bring one task that eats your week.
We talk it through, and I tell you plainly whether an agent should touch it.
